Highest Paid Federal Employee To Retire - TVA

Jeff Lyash, President and CEO of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), has announced his plans to retire by the end of the fiscal year, which concludes on September 30th. Lyash has held the position of CEO for nearly six years.

During his leadership, Lyash guided the nation's largest public utility, emphasizing the development of strong partnerships with the region's 153 Local Power Companies. Under his direction, TVA made substantial capital investments aimed at expanding power generation capabilities and improving transmission infrastructure.

Lyash has been notable as the highest-paid federal employee, a fact that has sparked public debate. His compensation package, including base salary and additional benefits, grew during his tenure. At the same time, TVA's electricity rates also saw significant increases under his leadership.

The responsibility of selecting Lyash's successor now falls to TVA's Board of Directors.
